Route Charlemagne
The Route Charlemagne is a new tourism concept for the city of Aachen, Germany. It is funded through the EuRegionale 2008, a transnational project for innovation in economy and cultural tourism in regions of the EU. It will launch around late May 2009.We are creating four interactive exhibits and components for the Route Charlemagne:
- Aixplorer: an interactive audio tour guide with seamless location awareness indoors and outdoors (working title Aixplorer)
- CORONA: an audio virtual reality letting you participate in a medieval coronation feast in the Coronation Hall (Krönungssaal, upstairs in the Town Hall)
- A multitouch table about the 1748 Aachen peace treaty
- An interactive exploration of recipients of the Karlspreis award
- A touch-sensitive history book of Aachen and the Town Hall
