Using Pressure to Glance and Interact with Occluded Windows

What is Forceposé?

Forceposé allows users to glance and interact with occluded windows by depressing a touchpad with pressure. Pressing and holding the finger allows an occluded window to spring to the front. The harder the user presses, the deeper window comes to the front. Releasing the finger restores the original order of the windows, hence, preserves the user's work context. Forceposé also allows peeking multiple stacks of windows at once for presentation or data analyses.

Forceposé is demonstrated at UIST 2012 Student Innovation Contest
