Tipps & Tricks for Milling
How to use the Machine?
- First open the VPanel for SRM-20 and select the "View" Button. Make sure the Machine is connected and powerd on
- Place your work piece ontop of buildplate. If you can, screw your part to the build plate or glue them with superglue to it.
- If your workpiece is very small, you can glue it to a larger plate, and fixate the plate zu the buildplate
- you can use douple sided tape, but make sure that the tape is thin an not so flexible.
- For easier refrencing, mark the top center point of your workpiece with an "x"
- Move the toolhead to the center top of your workpiece and save the new "zero" position for x, y and z.
- Open the MODELA Player 4 and open your STL inside.
- Orient and Scale your part here:
- Create Toolpaths here:
- Always select the 3mm Square Tool
- Send your job to the machine, it will execute all your created toolpaths sequentually.
My workpiece is not flat, what can i do?
- Start by zeroing the machine in the center.
- Then set the z zero position equivalent to the highest point of your workpiece
- Then load your model.
- Create the "Oberflächenbearbeiten" toolpath and set the desired height of material to remove.
- If you execute it now without any other toolpaths, the machine will flatten your workpiece and remove the desired amount of material.
Your finished piece is really small?
- If your workpiece is thicker than your finished piece, you can first start by milling your finished part from the top of your workpiece
- Then flip your workpiece and remove any excess material from the back of your piece with the "Oberflächenbearbeiten" toolpath.
