After finishing my diploma thesis at the Media Computing Group I started working as a postgraduate research assistant in the scope of the iStuff project.
In August 2006 I started working as a Java developer and project organisation assistant at RIS (REWE-Informations-Systeme GmbH), Cologne.
Currently, I am working as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Information Technique, Sankt Augustin.
My research interests lie in the exploration of post desktop user interfaces supported by mobile devices. Questions like interaction design for session migration and content exchange form the focus of my work.

Diploma Thesis Topic

"The Patch Panel GUI: A Graphical Development Environment For Rapid Prototyping Interfaces For Ubicomp Environments"

The topic of this diploma thesis is concentrated on developing a graphical user
interface that supports rapid prototyping in ubiquitous computing environments.
The goal is to find user friendly ways to configure an intermediary service, called "The Patch Panel". With this service, relationships and the behavior between different components of a ubicomp scenario are described and thus enables interoperability between devices and services that were originally not designed to be combined with each other.

The GUI was realized with the help of the Apple Quartz Composer that allows rapid prototyping of ubicomp scenarios at runtime. Changes can also be applied without the need of relaunching the setup which encourages more design iterations as well as experimental setups.

The final thesis is now available for download as well as published papers on research projects where this solution was used.
