Thesis Topic: Using Brain-Computer Interfaces to Interact with Everyday Devices
Supervisor: Christian Corsten

 


The basic idea behind my thesis is to build a non-invasive, subject-independent BCI system to interact with various devices that we use in our daily routine. Some of these devices include lights, TV, Fan, Air-conditioner and thermostat etc. The goal is to have a pre-trained system for a new user, using which he can interact with these devices. The way to do that is to collect brain signals of a significant amount of users to train the system. Once the system is trained, a new user can just wear the device and is good to go. This eliminates the cumbersome step of initial configuration and in the end we have a one-size-fits-all kind of a system.
