MCP 2024 - Colorblind
Course: Media Computing Project 2024
The scenario for the dungeon is a dystopian future where AI has taken over the world. However, domination takes time and pesky humans always find a way to slip through simple audits. Hence, everyone is required to go through a series of tests to proof that they are indeed AI and not obsolete humans from past times. For this, simple yet deceiving games were constructed that serve the purpose of reverse captcha. All hope seems lost... but our heroes were able to get a authentication-device oddly shaped like a finger of a robot that they can use to falsely identify themselves. They will try to get through the dungeon and escape the AI’s grasp.
Our exhibit is the first of the four. It primarily tests if the player allows for visual distraction, where the player needs to put the ball that is outputted in the front, into the catapult. They always need to hit the hole with a pixel in the ball color rotating around. The first few levels are designed in a way that makes the players understand this. For each hit, they receive visual and audible feedback. The next ball will be given to the player then. Of course, AI would never be deceived by other animations like a human would.
