Who is who?

Max/MSP is the tool for building cool MIDI and audio stuff. Available for 30-day free trial on Mac and Windows.
Jitter is the video and 3d add-on for Max/MSP.
pd is a free tool, very similar to Max/MSP. Available for Linux and Mac.
GEM is a graphics add-on for pd.
jMax is yet another free Max/MSP-like tool. It is cross-platform, having been written in Java.
