Aachen Maker Meetup #162: View of the Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS

At the last Maker Meetup in Aachen there were a lot of exciting projects to see. Martin Weil and Birgit Stolte presented their 3D printed projects. Both presented a card shuffler.

Birgit showed a selection of other 3D prints, including a clever bucket that could transport cubes to the lid using a small scoop. This scoop worked thanks to a built-in ultrasonic distance sensor to control the transport mechanism.

Thorsten also brought some interesting 3D prints, including a traffic light system for trains and a bridge, which he showed to the attendees. Another highlight of the evening was Rüdiger's homemade weaving frame. This handmade device was designed to make weaving much easier - a real bonus for anyone interested in textile crafts. In addition to the creative demonstrations, there was a pizza break where participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss their projects. This was followed by an exciting tour of the Fab Lab.

A highlight of the evening was the observation of the comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. Roger Leifert helped the group to spot the comet in the sky. On the terrace of the building, Prof. Jan Borchers took a picture of the comet as it flew by.

The Maker Meetup in Aachen was therefore a successful evening full of creative projects and interesting discussions.
