Hybrid Video Setup

This is a guide for a hybrid presentation setup, where the presentation is broadcasted and Zoom participants are included in the discussion.

The setup is described for the seminar room setup.

This guide expects knowledge of the basic setup of the video equipment.

Stream to Zoom

Connect your device to the RODE Caster via HDMI as per the usual setup.

Connect Lecture Notebook to the RODE Caster

  • via USB-C port 1 to stream the content to Zoom. For this, you can use the USB-C cable used to charge the microphones

  • via HDMI port 4 to stream the Zoom call to the projector. For this, you can use the white HDMI cable on the windowsill

For the Lecture Notebook: Make sure that RODE is mirrored and not extended

To test the setup, use an iPhone as presenter.

Zoom settings

Select RODE_RCV as speaker.

Select RODE Caster Video Multitrack as microphone.

Select RODE Caster Video as camera.

Unmute Zoom and turn on the camera.

Put Zoom on full screen.

To minimize the video of the zoom participant, double-click on the video of the Zoom participant.

During the presentation

During the talk, select scene 1 on the RODE Caster. This makes sure that only the presentation can be seen on the projector. During questions, switch to scene A to be able to see the Zoom participant on the projector.
