Who? YOU - Fashion (Art) Designers from Europe

What? 10 Computer scientists and fashion designers will discuss the link between fashion and electronics - smart fashion.

Most wearable computing projects today are ugly. The few good looking electronic fashion projects don't use smart electronics like microcontrollers. A blinking LED on a jacket is just not smart enough.
We will have a look at different conductive and non-conductive fabrics and threads and introduce the most famous microcontrollers for wearable computing available on the market today. We will find new ways of embedding smart electronics into clothing.

The workshop will split into three parts

  • design your own fashion project
  • add electronics to it
  • and create simple software for the smart microcontrollers
