Motion Tracker, Music, & More
This month's meetup was under the theme of e-music. We had a really nice evening with the two sythesizers, a theremin and some singing brought and performed by our participants in addition to the usual exchange of ideas and news. All of that with some pizza and of course we could not miss a tour through our Fablab.
Levin showed us his own motion tracker. Acceleration sensors capture and analyze the movement which then gets displayed by the software.

Torsten built his own remote controlled Mini cars withe a race track.

For the music part of the evening we had a theremin. You can play it by adjusting the distance of your hand relative to the antenna. That changes the electormagnetic field around the antenna which gets translated into the pitch of the sound.

Helge brought his own radio direction-finding transmitter. It transmits using two antennas on the 80-meter band (3.7 MHz), which, together with a suitable antenna setup, provides a range of up to several thousand kilometers. He can use the device not only as a tracking beacon but also as a two-way radio for communication.

Birgit brought us a synthesizer as part of our music themed evening. It has lots of possibilities to be you own one man orchestra and we had lots of fun trying different kinds of sounds. The other thing she had with her was a diorama of a fitness studio room. The people in it resemble the silouettes of her and some friends. The box and the floor were created with the laser cutter at our FabLab.
