Aachen Maker Meetup #125 (Wed, Feb 19, 2020): Vacuum Thermoforming
This monthly meetup began with Aron's talk on vacuum thermoforming. He talked about the use of vacuum thermoforming and gave examples on DIY approaches and professional production methods. Aron used this method to create a housing for some electronics for a car. The mold was then part of a giveaway at the meetup.
We were later introduced to a device that is connected to a doorbell and sends a wifi signal. A device in the garden is then receiving the signal and a sound is created. This enables people to hear the doorbell even when they are too far away from the door.
Birgit created a little box out of various leftovers using the lasercutter and an empty cake box.
As usual we had delicious pizza. Afterwards people discussed various topics and the doorbell group worked on their device.
In the end Birgit introduced us to a logic game called "Zendo", where the players try to find the correct logical rule for a given example. The components for this game where printed with a 3D printer.
