AMM #180: Rainbow puzzle-bowl and a functioning loom
At this month's Maker Meetup, we had a vivid exchange together with the usual pizza but sadly just a few projects to marvel at. A tour through the FabLab for the new ones in our midst was also included.
Our pillar of productivity Birgit brought a play- and colorful bowl made of lots of 3d printed single pieces which all have its unique place, so you have some puzzling fun before having the storage ready. She also had a little bucket for organic waste with her. The Top can be rotated for some air flow and the plate in the bottom is removable so your waste does not need to swim in potential liquids.

Nitzan wanted to learn more about weaving with looms. So she looked online found a 3D model and got it printed for experimenting. You get the threads to some tension, then turn the square cards parallel to the threads in at least 90 degrees, pull the weaving shuttle with the white thread perpendicular to the main strand through the gap and tighten it to the front. If you do this in a certain way over and over a band will form like you can see in the foremost part of the right picture. She allowed us to try for ourselves but we spare you the sight as it was frankly spoken not quite as good as Nitzan had prepared hers. But it was very fun and enlightening to see how its done. Thank you.
