Directions from the Computer Science Building

From the Computer Science Building, take a bus to Westbahnhof, then bus 1/41/43 to Gewerbegebiet Schlottfeld (19 minutes door-to-door). Alternatively, it's a 10-minute bike/scooter ride or a 4-minute car ride. Then follow the directions to our chair below.

Directions: Bus

The following bus lines stop 200 m from our building at the stop Gewerbegebiet Schlottfeld: 1, 1E, 30, 41, 43, 70, 80, 173, V, X73, Netliner

From the bus stop, walk down the street Im Süsterfeld to the end. Our building is at Im Süsterfeld 9 on your left.

To get to our chair or the Fab Lab, use the front entrance here, go up to the top floor (elevator available), turn into the corridor on your right, then press the doorbell button, and our administrator Clarissa will let you in. Call her at +49-241-80-21051 if you get lost.

To get to our seminar room 2.73, use the side entrance on the right side of the building, and go to the top floor (no elevator). The seminar room is on your right. Call our administrator Clarissa at +49-241-80-21051 if you get lost.

Directions: Car

Get off the A4 on exit #2 (Laurensberg), and turn right towards RWTH. Keep right to merge onto Toledoring. Take the exit Süsterfeld. At the roundabout, take the first exit. Then turn left again immediately onto Im Süsterfeld. Drive to the end of the street. Our building is on your left. There is open parking on the street and an RWTH-only parking structure (permit required 24/7!) at the end of the street. We have 3 guest parking permits for the RWTH parking structure.

Directions: Train

You can reach Aachen easily by train. Get off at the main station (Aachen Hbf) and take a taxi to Im Süsterfeld 9 for less than 15 €. Regional trains also stop at Aachen West station, from which it is a 5-minute bus ride (lines 1, 41, or 43, see above). Some travel times (high-speed trains, direct or 1 stopover): 

  • Bruxelles: 1 hour, every hour
  • Frankfurt International Airport (FRA): 90 minutes to 2 hours, several connections per hour
  • Paris: 2 hours 45 minutes, every few hours
  • London: 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours, every few hours.

Directions: Plane

Maastricht/Aachen airport (MST) has some direct connections. From there, you can rent a car, get a cab (25 minutes, around 70 €), or take public transport (around 2 hours). (Details)

Düsseldorf (DUS) and Cologne (CGN) airports are both an hour away and have many national and international connections.

Frankfurt international airport (FRA) is Germany's biggest international hub, and it's 1.5 to 2 hours by train from the terminal to Aachen Hbf.
