INTERVIEW PROTOCOL
While conducting interviews of the users, we take great care of asking the questions in sequence of the answers provided by the user and according to the situation and scenario as described by the user. We divided the whole interview session into three sub-sessions in which we asked questions related to different possible scenarios and situations where the users can get help from a navigation system. Some important questions which we asked the user to get his ideas regarding the need and usage of a navigation system are as following:
  1. How do you travel in your daily life?
  2. Which means of traveling do you prefer
  3. Have you ever wished for something that might help you out in situations where no one is available for help?
  4. Suppose you are at a place where nobody is available for help (e.g. Highway) then how will you find out the most suitable path to your destination?
  5. Suppose that you went for hunting in a forest and while coming back after hunting, you found yourself lost in the forest. Will it be great if your mobile phone could help you to get out of this situation?
  6. How will you survive in China, where most of the people don't speak English?
