Introduction

We started out with some brainstroming sessions where we agreed on introducing a dance interface. For the sound creation we used a simple mapping which used the pitch on the y-axis and the volume on the x-axis, reaching from the middle of the user's body to the outsides. We called it "The Sound of Juggling" as we imagined how strange usual tasks could sound when you wear the interface.

After some researcher testing (by Tico and Eric) we were asked to make it a bit more sophisticated. As we did not come up with really promising ideas, we decided rethink the idea from ground up sound generation.

We finally came up with a mapping of the average of light and color to derive a state which we associated to a music sample. This can be used to play music appropriately to the image that the user sees. One example where this could be implemented would be an add-on to the ipod where the ipod automatically selects songs that are appropriate to the ambient situation of the user (at least visually ;-) )
